DMCI 85th Reunion

Posted in Reunion Planning at 11:46 am by Corey Robinson (81)

April 18, 19 and 20th, 2008

Less than a week away is “The Big One”. Trot over to the Alumni Association website (dmcialumni.org) for details on tickets, wrestling matches etc.

Personally, I’ll be at the school’s open house on Saturday afternoon, April 19th. There is a looming health issue in my immediate family that might prevent me from attending, but it appears to be under control, so I expect to be there.

Anyone who expects to attend any part of the reunion, I suggest you leave a comment on this post say where and when you’ll be there so people who wish to meet up with you can find you.

Rumour is there will NEVER be another 85th DMCI school reunion. So let’s make this one count!

Just a quick hello to those of you who may remember me.  I graduated early (January) in 1982.  I  would love to find out what some of my ‘old’ classmates are up to!

Reunions coming up.

Posted in General at 11:12 am by Corey Robinson (81)

Just wanted to mention some upcoming reunions.

The big one is only about a month away!  I’ll be attending the school open house on Saturday afternoon. If anyone else intends to be there, how about leaving a comment.

There is a class of 83 reunion in the works, but I’ve misplaced any info if I have it.  If someone know some details, let me know in comments of use the contact form.

I’ll also draw your attention to a Class of 88 reunion coming in July.

More info is available on the Upcoming Reunions page.

Class of 1963

Posted in General at 7:58 pm by David Ewart

My good friend from days of yore - Gordon Thompson - contacted me a few months back. He tracked me down via Google. (You can check out my personal blog web site at www.davidewart.ca)

Since then, Gordon has been in touch with a few other class mates, and we are interested in connecting with as many as possible. To aid this process I have started a “DMCI Class of 63″ blog at www.dmci63.com. Check there for JPG files of our Year Book photos.

And please contact me if you are a class mate or have any information about someone.

Thompson DavidAs for me … I now live in Vancouver; am married to Catherine and have two boys now attending U of Toronto. When I was at DMCI, my name was David Thompson, but in the 80’s I adopted my step-father’s name and am now David Ewart.

Looking back, I would not say that high school was the happiest time of my life, but I’d like to meet with as many as possible to reminisce and see what life has held for us. Hope to see you at the reunion coming up in April 18-20, 2008.

I miss that great school - D.M.C.I.

Posted in General at 1:55 pm by pauloalmeida90

Hi everyone, remember me from the class of 1990? I miss D.M.C.I. and all my friends back then from school. Some great teachers I had, like Mr. Brothers - the History teacher, he was great, he knew how to motivate everyone. There was this girl named Paula Barbosa and everytime we crossed each other there was that look. I really liked her, but never had the courage to talk to her. What´s made of her? She´s about my age. Now I´m living in Portugal for the last 15 years, I have family roots from Portugal. But I miss alot Winnipeg and DMCI. Still haven´t forgotten my english. If there´s anyone who remembers me back from school, write too me through this site. Bye, bye for now and see you guys soon.

Where to begin when 26 years have passed?

Posted in In search of at 9:31 am by Hobson81

Hello, Everyone!

This message finds me in Toronto where I’ve been living happy and well since 1993. Between 1981 and 1984, you would have found me in Vancouver where I studied at Simon Fraser University before returning to Winnipeg to complete an undergraduate degree at the University of Winnipeg. It was during those years that I developed some of my best friendships which continue to this day.  In fact, I was visiting friends in Winnipeg a few months and yes, I did drive past the ole high school. Its surprising how some things remain the same while others change.

With the exception of a few individuals, I can’t recall specific people from my graduating class. In fact, if memory serves me correct, I didn’t attend the graduation ceremony but did join the rest of you on the Paddlewheel Queen to celebrate. I can still recall the outfit I wore but that is another story for another time!

Wishing you well.

Bryan Hobson
