Some Reunion Plans
Tony B started mentioning some ideas we’ve also had and are planning. I thought I should mention them here so everyone can have a chance to give some feedback and maybe participate in the planning.
1) BBQ - Tony asked Neal if his yard was big enough. We’re actually planning a BBQ supper for the reunion day in the Courtyard of the school. We thought it would be a much more enoyable experience than an indoor supper, but if rain happens, we’ll have backup plans. If you want to chime in on what your preference would be for such a thing, hit the comments link. Are we talking steak or bratwurst? Fancy or simple? What do you like/ (this changed, stay tuned)
2) Floor hockey and such things have been mentioned a few times in the comments. We’re getting access to the gym as well, and had tentatively planned for a floor hockey game or two. We’ve got some time in the afternoon before the meal for these kinds of things, so if Tony, Neal, or anyone else would like to take charge for running and planning this stuff, speak up. I’ll help with the planning through this site, so if you need any resources here, just ask.
That’s it for the moment. This reunion is about us, and what we want it to be, so make your feelings known!

Keep it casual . . . the simpler, the better!

I agree with Karen. It will be more relaxed and people will be more at ease. This is a class where you don’t need to make a huge deal out of it. A BBQ sounds good and maybe going out for drinks afterwards or something just as casual. Something to think about.

I should update that what I wrote up there. It was quite a while ago. We’ve moved away from supper in the courtyard, because it’s actually kind of complicated to plan. Stay tuned for more info, as we’ve gotten the key approval I’ve been waiting for, and am in the process of setting up ticket purchases and official announcement type stuff.

I agree with the keeping it casual so everyone can just be themselves and enjoy. Karen, I recognized a lot of names on that 1981 list - are you still in contact with many of them? I have forwarded this link to Louis Gameiro via his wife Georgina as well as Jackie Bouchard as one of her family members works with my husband Steve. Hopefully that will start a domino effect of more contact information soon. One of the Phys Ed teachers at my kids school was talking about the good old days when he played basketball against Joe Ogom, the Buss brothers, etc. I will ask him if is still in contact with any of them.
